Last day of this for 5 days. Stress overload right now. I think I might have to stay at work today for 2 days straight to get my work done. No idea how it will all get done, but it has to, because for me, this is the last day of qtr. blah blah blah. whine whine whine.
I did not fall asleep last night until after 11pm. this resulted in me being very grumpy this morning when my alarm went off at 5am to go to the gym because I had to miss yesterday because I had to feed a hamster and yea know, be able to eat dinner and relax for more than 20 minutes. Needless to say, I did not go to the gym. I have zero motivation in the morning. It is a hopeless cause for me to try to go in the morning.
Thankfully Mike and his brother offered to feed the hamster for me today so that I can go to the gym. Woo hoo. Very sweet of them. They might even come by around lunch time to meet up with me for some food.
I might end up working ridiculously late though today. Apparently if you ever want to go on vacation you need to do everything you would miss by being on vacation the day before you leave.
Since graduating from college I have struggled a bit with balancing work, life, eating healthy and fitness. I was recently diagnosed with high cholesterol and I am using this blog to help me gain a healthier lifestyle and reduce my cholesterol in the process. My goal is to do this through eating healthier and working out a lot, but of course... no "diet"!

Nap Time?
How has your break been? Mine has been pretty fantastic. I am no longer on it though. Will be back on it starting Tuesday at 630pm though. Woo hoo! hahah.
Christmas went very well, as well as Christmas Eve dinner. I think everything turned out pretty well. It is so nerve racking cooking for people because what if the way I like my food is the opposite of how they like it? Either way, I liked all my food. hahaha.
Here is my recap of the holidays
Tuesday Night: Dinner with Mike's parents at Texican (very good shrimp flautas and mexican martini's)
Wednesday; Christmas Eve dinner
Thursday: Christmas day, presents, movie watching, etc
Friday: exchanging presents, went with Mike to get a new car
Saturday: went to Houston and watched the Rockets win in double over time. It was pretty fantastic.
Sunday: went to ikea to get a dresser, then did laundry and cooked a bean & ham soup. Delish.
I definitely ate a bit too much on my 5 days off. But I will work it off in no time. I didn't get to work out as much as I wanted, but am getting back into the swing of things starting today.
Today I am going to the gym after work. As well as Tuesday. And then on my days off I am going to go to my apartment gym, which I recently found out is open 24 hours. It will be a great gym experience I think, after the office closes. Otherwise it is super awkward. Or at least looks like a a super awkward experience.
I think it is time for a nap. Unfortunately I cannot do that right now....
I hope you all had a great holiday!
Planned Food for Today
B: oatmeal w/ true delights granola bar, coffee w/ hazenut silk creamer
L: leftover bean & ham soup, fiber select crackers
S: carrots, tangerine
D: Christmas leftovers
Planned Workout
Circuit Training class

I Did It
So I was going to skip the gym at lunch today and go to lunch with friends at work. I figured I would get plenty of walks in and runs with all the dogs (4 of them) staying at my house in the next weeks. But then I remembered I probably can't afford a lunch out, and my perception of how my tummy looks would be MUCH happier if I did go to the gym. So I did it. And now I am sweaty at work. Awesome. haha.
I ran 2.25 miles. Yes, that is right, I ran again. I kind of walked a lot of it actually, but there was also a lot of running in involved. After not running for a month ro two (due to injury) you really lose your endurance. I have none now. Oh well.
So this is my 2nd run in the last few days. I had a tiny tiny bit of pain for about 30 seconds in the run and then walked when it happened, then went back on it again once it went away. No pain so far. No pain after the run from Saturday either. Woo hooo. I think I can slowly get back into the groove of things. Although I do love the classes I started as well.
Yesterday I did not have time to go to the gym as I mentioned yesterday. I did however eat small meals until dinner. By the time we got dinner, which was my favorite sort of meal ever (burrito w/ beans, cheese, rice, potatoes, guac, heave), I ate all of it. It was quite tasty. not sure it was worth eating the whole thing. Oh well.
Today everyone who is going to be here for the next two weeks will be here. Yesterday the chaos already began with 3 dogs in the house. Ender is obsessed with playing with the other dog (Hunter) and Emily is obsessed with proving to him that she is the boss of the house. It is pretty hilarious actually.
I got zero sleep last night. But am excited for the next 5 days off. Starting today around 6pm I will be on my first vacation in a year! Woo hoo!!!!!!!
Tomorrow I cook dinner for a whole family. I am nervous, but think it should be okay.
Have a great Holiday! I hope to be writing a lot, but no promises.

Schedule's Are Hard to Keep
This whole schedule I had planned is quite difficult to stick to. Actually I have not been able to stick to it very much. A million things keeps popping up and they are on a more need to be finished NOW basis.
For example, today I need to send out xmas presents in the mail. I have to do this at lunch. I cannot go to the gym and go to the post office. Boo.
Tonight I can't go to the gym because Mike's brother comes into town. I will probably be at work till pretty late as it is. And we will probably go out to dinner or something too.
Tomorrow Mike's parents get into town.
I think I might try working out in the morning. I found out that my apartment gym has a key to it that we can get it (starting today!) and it is open 24 hours. It is a tiny gym, and in a weird location, but once the regular office hours are over it won't be as weird. If I go right when I wake up, it should be good. And Mike said he would join in with me. And also go on runs with me and the pups.
4 dogs in a tiny 2 bedroom apartment will require lots of exercise outside of the apartment.
Mike and I took the pups on a run on Saturday. Emily ran a good mile dragging me along before giving up. I also realized I lost my house key at this point. Tying it to my shoe lace without sticking my key underneath my shoe laces was a mistake. Oops. Was only locked out of our place for a little while. One perk to living in apartments is that the front office always has a spare key for you. :-) Ender made it 2 miles with energy to spare. Mike was proud of him and is excited to keep running with him. I make sure to stop running once the dog decides to slow down, because they are more in tune with their bodies limitations than me.
I got a ton of stuff done this weekend. Although definitely not everything I planned to get done. I still need to clean out the fireplace, which I am NOT excited to do. Any tips on that? I have never cleaned one out before. I am scared of a massive allergy attack. I am already allergic to the wood to begin with, but in ashes, it is sound to kill my sinus'. Might need a mask. haha.
What are you doing to make sure you get in some exercise over the holidays?

WOW Super Lame
So I was all motivated to go to the gym at lunch. I went inside, into the locker room, took out all my clothes and shoes out of the bag and then discovered my pants were completely wet. Apparently my water bottle leaked into my bag. Awesome right? So obviously I couldn't work out with wet pants. So I walked right out of the locker room. Slightly embarassing because hardly anyone was in there. Oh well.
Instead I went to CVS and got eye make up remover, lipstick, face wash and tons of candy for stockings. Will make sure to give those to everyone else and not me. haha.

Today is a new day. I am going to think more positive thoughts. Going to stay on plan and stop whining in my head, to mike and to my blog.
If I could get through college on my own (paying for things, etc) while working 35 hours and taking 18 units, I can commit to being healthy for a semesters worth right? Once I do that, I can learn to be healthy for the rest of my life.
I just have no sense of commitment anymore to plans I make for myself like I did then when I had more to lose. Everything was timed out to the minute, and that is the only way I know how to accomplish things. I think the biggest problem with scheduling workouts into my life, is that I can't say I CAN'T miss it, like I couldn't miss classes or work. I also have a major guilt complex, like well Mike really wants to hang out tonight so I guess I will give up what I want to do, because I can't say I CAN'T go like I could if it could have been class or work.
Apparently I need to make working out as much of a priority in my life as I did with classes and still do with work. I need to stop feeling guilty for working out instead of hanging out with Mike, or friends or whatever. I need to time everything out and not let myself miss things. I need to hold myself accountable to my list. I should not allow any excuses, unless the excuse would work for getting out of work, etc, ie being sick, etc.
This is a terrible time to start this schedule. Or maybe it isn't. Maybe it is the best time, since it will test my commitment to this choice.
I am going to create a schedule for the rest of the holiday season, and do my best to commit to it, just like I do for work.
As I am scheduling this all, I realize that with visitors in town for 2 weeks I am going to have to work out at lunch or in the morning not after work. Otherwise I wouldn't be getting home until 830pm, and then have to shower and then cook dinner or go somewhere for dinner. Better to get home around 630 or 7. Luckily this is only 4 days worth of working out during lunch or in the morning.
I also just emailed mike and asked him to commit to it with me, so that I won't feel as guilty for leaving his parents and what not. We can probably also bring the dogs (if we go on runs) and Mike's brother. Could be a good family plan.
Here is my Schedule:

Do you think this is realistic? I tried to make it as accurate as possible regarding plans and what not.
Alright here is the food plan for today:
B: Starbucks Espresso Coffee, Larabar
S: Greek Yogurt
L: Leftovers from yesterday
S: veggies, banana w/ almond butter
D: Pumpkin Curry w/ rice
PS: I also have to go get my car inspected today at lunch. I hope it won't cost TOO much and that my car passes. Gah!!

Three Possible Optons..
I am either wearing an outfit that completely does not flatter me, stood in front of a make you look fat mirror, or am actually a LOT wider than I thought I was. I think it may be a combo of all them honestly. Wow. I hate when I am wearing an outfit that looks horrible on me, but that I thought when I left the house looked fine. I can't do anything about it, so I have to just suck it up. I also hate looking wide, but that is another story. heh.
I just came back from the holiday office LUNCH party. Yes you read that right. It was at some fancy seafood place. I actually ended up getting the vegetarian meal though. I knew it would be a huge meal so I ate very little for breakfast, no snack, and will eat a small dinner. My afternoon snack today will consist of lots of water and my veggies. Dinner tonight = soup.
I am also going to the gym today. I will be doing pilates. Not sure if I will like it, but every class so far has been pretty cool at my gym.
My meal consisted of a million things but I made sure to load up on a huge salad, and save room for dessert. haha.
I have not been able to work out yet this week, which means I am aching to be at the gym right now. hah. too bad I have a few hours left of work, and a huge food coma. oh well.
What have you all done for a holiday office party?

Lack of Ice = Major Dissapointment
So last night was super lame. well not really, just the lack of gym part. We got all these crazy weather advisories saying the roads would probably get icy after 6pm. So instead of going to my favorite class at the gym with my favorite teacher and potential gym friends, I went home. I was really disappointed. What is worse, is that it never got icy at all. LAME. Oh well.
I ate lunch at Luby's today, which is an old people cafeteria style place. full of fried chicken. I tried one piece of fried cauliflower. waaay too salty. I had the veggie plate though, although super heart attack like still. haha.
I can't make it to the gym today either. I have Girlie NIght at the Alamo Drafthouse where I will be watching Love Actually with Teddy. I am super excited.
Starting tomorrow I get to do all my gym classes again. Woo hoo. I am definitely looking forward to some exercise.
Oh yeah, yesterday while eating my veggies I bit into a sweet pepper and looked down and saw a lovely bug (still alive) inside it. Luckily it was not half of a bug. Gross.
Alright, I need to head out. Have a great day!

PS: It is FREEZING Today
So I guess I already knew this, btu didn't fully realize this until last night. Christmas is 10 days away, and pretty soon there will be a total of 5 people at my 2 bedroom apartment, and 4 dogs for 2 weeks. This is all including me, the boyfriend and my dogs. Not too bad, but still it is making em realize that I need to get a lot done, pretty much right now.
I have most of the Christmas shopping done, the christmas tree set up, and ingredients for desserts, sorta.
I need to come up wtih a list of things I am going to make for Christmas dinner. Also Christmas eve. Also while the guests will be here I need to have some food and snacks on hand. I have never hosted Christmas before, so I am scared it won't be as great as when my mom does it. Any tips?
Oh I also have to get my oil changed in my car and get my car inspected by Texas and then also get a Texas license & license plate. For some reason that is stressing me out more than anything. I am going to get the oil change at lunch today. Get the car inspected Thursday I think. Wish me luck ;-)
In times like this I always write a list. So be prepared:
Monday: Oil change at lunch, Circuit Training, Load of Laundry
Tuesday: Love Actually at Alamo Drafthouse
Wednesday: Holiday lunch party thing, Pilates
Thursday: Car State Inspection, Bosu Core
Friday: Write list for Christmas dinner, etc
Saturday: Costco
Sunday: Clean house hardcore, tons of laundry, etc
Also sorry for not responding to all comments recently, will do this soon!
Have a good one!
Planned food for Today
B: oatmeal w/ true delights bar, almond butter, coffee w/ pumpkin spice soymilk
L: bean & cheese taco
S: veggies, apples
D: Pumpkin Soup

Busy Schedule
How is everyone doing? I am doing alright. I have been fighting some sort of sickness the last few days. So last night I decided to go to bed around 9pm, and slept the whole time. It was amazing. I feel much better today, although not perfect.
Even though I was feeling slightly crappy last night I went to the gym. I was taking a Bosu Core class. I found out when I arrived it was only a 30 minute class. I thought it was an hour so that confused me.
A girl from my circuit training class was in the class. We talked a bit. i love that I am making sorta friends in the classes. It definitely motivates me to come back. it was funny, last circuit training class this one girl who regularly goes didn't show up, so the instructor actually texted her and asked her why. So funny. I need to give her my number so I won't ever give in to temptation to not go. haha.
BTW I am eating Blueberry Oiko's Greek Yogurt right now. It is delicious. Mmmm. I found out the Randalls (Safeway/Vons) near me carries it. Really excited bc then I am not tempted with the amazingness of Whole Foods by being forced to go when the oiko's runs out. haha.
I have a busy weekend, but am still excited for it.
Tonight I am going to go to the mall with Mike and get his mom a Christmas present, and get a longhorn t shirt.
Saturday I am going to a UT basketball game (to wear the longhorn shirt) and then I have 3 parties I need to attend. Ahhh.
On Sunday I am supposed to watch Robo Cop in theaters. Also tons of laundry, grocery shopping, etc.
I am really excited for my soon to be vacation. Only one more full week before intermittent vacation starts. Woo hoo.
I am taking off Dec 24th - Dec 28th. Then Dec 13st - January 5th. I canNOT wait for time off. Plus Mike's parents and brother will be in town during that time so we will probably do a lot of fun things and show them around Austin. Also I will be going to a Rockets game in Houston on the 27th! Woo hoo.
I am undecided on what to do for lunch today. I can't afford to go out, so I might just go home and hang out with the pups. Hmm.
Planned Food for the Day
B: oatmeal w/ true delights granola bar & 1/2 tbsp of barney butter, coffee w/ pumpkin spice soy milk
S: Blueberry Oikos
L: 1/2 Bean and Cheese burrito
S: birthday cake, veggies, kiwi
D: Soup

Snow in Austin
So last night I went to watch "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf" at the Alamo Drafthouse downtown. When I got out of the movie it was SNOWING outside. Yes SNOWING in Austin, after we had an 80 degree temps earlier in the day. It wasn't a heavy snow, or one that stuck on more than our cars, but it was still SNOW.
I didn't end up getting home until pretty late, around 12 or 1 or something. I was too tired to even look at the clock.
Today my throat hurts, which is awesome obviously. I am sipping on a lot of tea. Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride to be exact. And for a review, smells really awesome but makes me want cookies, and the taste does not satisfy my new sugar cookie cravings. haha.
Today is catered lunch day at work. I got a bean and cheese burrito. Mmmm. It has been awhile since I have had one of those.
This veggie thing really is keeping my dinners down to almost nothing. I ate a bowl of tomato soup last night, and had a small lunch and didn't really snack much aside from veggies and fruit. I had some dessert at the theater, a small creme brulee (which I shared) and hot coco. I can tell you for a fact, the coco was not fattening though because i swear it was more water than coco. Blehk. The scale went up though this morning, but I am pretty sure that is because I am sore from my workout on Monday which means I am retaining water, blah blah blah.
Tonight I am planning on going to a pilates class and then watching the suns game. I am nervous about the class. I think I did pilates once before and it was really intense. or that was yoga. hmm. Not sure now. But either way I rememebr my abs hurting after yoga or pilates whichever one it was. Not a big fan of anything SLOW or stretching for that matter, but I am sure switching things up won't hurt.
Planned Food for the Day
B: Oatmeal w/ true delights bar and almond butter, coffee w/ pumpkin spice
L: bean and cheese burrito w/ rice and bite of tres leches
S: veggies, 2 kiwi, bannaa w/ almond butter
D: soup
Planned Workout
pilates class - 1 hour

Updates, and Secrets. Heh
Wow, it has been far too long since I updated. Sorry about that. Life has been incredibly busy. I even have pictures I need to upload that I have not gotten around to. I promise to do it soon though. :-)
I will do a short update.
Friday: Worked, then went home with a massive headache. I watched girly television and did some Christmas shopping online.
Saturday: I did a ton of errands, did some Christmas shopping got a tree, went to my friend's office holiday party and then watched Syndechoe, New York with Mike.
Sunday: Did more errands, went on a hike with Mike and the pups, more errands, etc.
Monday: worked, then went to a Circuit Training class.
So let's go into how the Circuit Training class went last night. Only 5 people ended up showing up, and that was not enough for a traditional Circuit Training class. So the teacher, who I think is awesome despite what I am about to tell you, decided to make us to the "Torture Routine." Essentially a full body workout, where pretty much everything you did involved some sort of squat, lunge or push up. Well except the abs, which were obviously torture to me, since I HATE ab workouts. haha. I was sweating buckets by the time I got out of class. I will be sore later today I am sure.
When I got home Mike was still in celebrating mood for being done with finals. We went out to a restaurant and got a Mexican Martini and shared some flautas. Pretty small meal, but high in calorie drink. Does it even out? No idea. haha. Afterwards I went home, attempted to watch an episode of Freaks & Geeks and passed out.
Tonight I am going to see a movie at Alamo Drafthouse. It is called "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf" and apparently it is a "Hey Homo" event. No idea what it is about, but Mike's film buddies wanted to go and I was invited.
So aside from a ridiculous amount of work I need to be doing, I will also be partaking in some other fun things this week. Here is a run down:
Tuesday: Movie
Wednesday: Pilates Class
Thursday: Bosu Core class
Saturday: UT Basketball Game, Party Hopping
Do you have any fun plans coming up?
Planend Food for Today
B: Oatmeal w/ true delights bar mixed in, Coffee w/ pumpkin spice soy milk
S: greek yogurt
L: amy's vegetarian spicy chili w/ 2% american single cheese
S: huge bag of veggies, 2 kiwi
PS: Since I have been eating a TON of veggies, I have not been hungry at all for the most part for about 2 weeks. Maybe little twinges of hunger, but most of the time just a full feeling. I actually skipped dinner once, and have since started eating small dinners since I am not hungry for anything else. Try it out. I think it is definitely the "secret" haha.

Bad Food Day - Oh Well
I got my hair cut last night :-) I kind of have side swept bangs. They looked like it last night. This morning I couldnt get it right and thought a few pieces of hair were off so i cut them. It looked a little choppy and I knew how to fix it, but I was running late and HAD to be at work at exactly 8am this morning. So now it looks a little choppy. I think it is a pretty big change (for me) but only one person said something. That usually means it is hideous and people are just not saying anything to be nice, but I still like it and am confused by the perception. haha.
In my rush out of the house this morning I also didn't have time to pack my gym bag. I really wanted to do this bosu core class too. Boo. I stayed up late though last night, until about 130am, to help the boyfriend with a paper he was working on that is due today. Probably best I did not workout, because I am tired.
Today is officially going to be my "saturday" when it comes to food.
For lunch I went to an Indian Food buffet which was delish. I really didn't eat too much, aside from the naan. I can't help it. It is delicious.
Then there was a birthday celebration at work. I had chocolate fudge espresso cake. Delicious. I ate my whole slice and am now incredibly full.
Dinner tonight is supposed to be Mike either cooking for me or buying me a meal and bringing it home so we can watch the Suns vs. Mavericks game tonight. Mike wants to make up for me helping him on his paper. Wonder what we will be having? Hmmm.
I will go back to eating fantastically starting tomorrow. I did pretty well all week so far.
Oh also, my abs are now sore, just not half as sore as my legs were the other day. No idea how my abs are so much stronger than my legs when I work those out ALL the time. heh. I find it strange. Maybe it is not at all and I am just misinformed.
Oh also, there is a huge box of see's candies in the break room, along with fancy cookies candy. I can easily avoid them right now since I am over stuffed with chocolate fudge espresso cake. haha. Oh well.
Have a great day!

Soups & Haircut
A lot of you mentioned that I incorporate lots of soups in my diet to increase veggie consumption. Love the idea. Especially since this is the first year I have actually started to CRAVE soups. Normally I hated them and thought they were boring. But now I just want something nice and warm to eat. What are YOUR favorite soups?
I looked at all the cans of soups I have at home and looked at the fiber content. Amy's were pretty good, and surprisingly my favorite soup (bc of childhood memories), campbells bean w/ bacon, has 9 grams of fiber, just as much as Amy's lentil soup. Crazy. Probably a lot more sodium though. Oh well.
I have all kinds of ideas now for soups. I don't even know how to make them though. Do you need a food processor if you make them from scratch? I will need to research this. Am I obsessive compulsive for you enough this week on the veggie front? haha.
Oh also last night I went to Step class. It was a little different than the 24 hour fitness one, so I got confused A LOT and at the end of class everyone was like wow, you did pretty good for your first time. The fact they noticed was awesome, because unfortunately I have done step about 10 times at nother gym. Also that they had to say that, truly meant I was pathetic in my mind. hahaa. I have accepted I have no coordination though, so I just am glad I can let them believe it was my first time, EVER. hahaha.
After the Step part though we did abs. Abs on an incline is incredibly intense I learned last night. Surprisingly they are not sore though. My abs hardly EVER get sore, which is weird because the only time I work them out (at least as a focused ab exercise) is when I am taking a class like this, and it has been over 6 months. I am not complaining though. But I will say my legs are freaking sore. It hurts to walk here.
So everyone in Texas warned me that fall/winter were soo much different than California weather. I think they must not know Southern California weather because it feels exactly the same, except with some humidity. It is going to be 74 degrees today. I still can't wear my cute jacket that I bought a few weeks ago. Tomorrow it is supposed to be 59, so I want to wear it, although I am sure a ton of you reading this think 59 is t-shirt weather. Personally, anything below 75 requires a sweatshirt for me. which is exactly why I am constantly always wearing my work fleece at work and have a space heater by my desk. haha. Note, a space heater the 4 people in my cube area are supposed to share, but that I stole for personal use. Although if they ask to use it, I swear I would let them. :-)
Today is free lunch at work day. I am getting a bowl with some thai noodles (forgot the name of them), veggies, curry and tofu. They usually go pretty heavy on the veggies from this place. Pretty excited too because it usually results in at least 2 lunches.
Tomorrow though we are going out to lunch again for a few co-workers birthdays. Will definitely get a salad tomorrow, and not the stuffed avocado like I did yesterday. oops.
Ooo also I have a hair cut today. That means no workout, although I am too sore to walk today so that wasn't an option anyway. I need to find a cute hairstyle to bring into the hair dresser. I did not like what they did last time and think I need to show pictures this time for specific instructions. Any ideas on where to find cute haircuts?
Planned Food for the Day
B: oatmeal w/ true delights granola bar, coffee w/ pumpkin spice soy milk
S: oiko's blueberry
L: veggie/tofu bowl

D: Leftover veggie/tofu bowl

Dreams of Veggies and Fruit...
So yesterday I definitely increased the veggies. I had veggies with my pseudo fried rice (rice, egg whites, sweet potato, corn, onions, garlic, edamame, ham). I had a huge sandwich bag of baby carrots, celery and tomatoes. Loved it. It kept me full pretty much all night. I wasn't even hungry for dinner when it came around, but I ate anyway, knowing I should. But definitely less. Fantastic. Although my tummy is definitely noticing the changes. Almost not in a good way. So I am going to keep the veggie increase to the level it is at now and then continue to increase slowly.
I have a very sensitive stomach, so I have to be careful when I make any changes. This is why I stuck with eating 3 rotating meals of spaghetti, bean tostadas and quesadillas for about 3 years straight for dinner every night. This might be a longer process for me to incorporate this veggie/fruit habit to the degree it needs to be compared to a normal person. I can deal with that. I hope you can ;-)
Yesterday on twitter I asked people what sort of veggies are their favorites, because I need ideas on new ones to eat. I usually always have the go to carrots, celery, tomatoes and snap peas. This will get boring. I am sure. I got a few good ideas, and think I will incorporate them next week. I also got a few ideas from my readers, including Molly (my ex roomie and an amazing friend). Thank you!
I am the type of person though who as soon as she hears a good idea wants to get the item to get the idea in action immediately. But I can't. I am stopping myself. I spent too much on groceries this week already and have a lot of food to eat. I need to eat it first before buying anything. I even have to stop myself from cooking a million different meals I want to try. I have the ingredients in my house (well not for a million different, but several different ones) and just want to go for it. But I would never eat everything I make, so I am stopping myself. It takes a lot of self restraint, promise.
I had dreams last night about incorporating more veggies and fruit into my diet. In my dream I discovered I had TONS of frozen fruit in my freezer and started adding that to my oatmeal. And turns out I do have SOME frozen fruit in my freezer, so I started with some frozen peaches this morning.
Oh also, my blackberry alarm decided not to go off this morning like it is told to do on weekdays. It was on. I did not do anything stupid like set it to pm or something instead of am. it had the same settings as the morning before when it went off on time. I tested it a few times and it would not work. I reset the phone, still didn't work. I took out the battery and restarted it and it finally did work. But now I am super paranoid. I have two alarm systems on my blackberry though so hopefully at least one of them goes off tomorrow morning.
Luckily Mike works from home today and was able to make me coffee and take the dogs out this morning. I only ended up being 8 minutes late to work (after waking upt 45 minutes late) but I did have to eat my oatmeal at work. It was funny too, because some new person started today and as someone was introducing him to my group I was in mid bite of my oatmeal. Sexy right?
I think I have to get another blood test in December to test my cholesterol. I am hoping it went down a little. I am going to go extra hard core on the veggies and fruit this month so hopefully by the time I take it, it will be down. Not sure how much can change in a matter of 3 weeks or whatever it is supposed to be.
Oh also last night I went ot the circuit training class again. It was a lot of fun, and incredibly intense. I did get one compliment from the instructor though, saying she was surprised I hadn't given up earlier into one of the workouts like everyone else. Woo hoo. And I only gave up for like 3 seconds and finished up my last 15 seconds. Also I have always been terrible at coordination. I have accepted this at least and don't mind that at every single station the instructor has to tell me what I am doing the exercise wrong in some way it seems. It is good she is telling me though because I do need to figure out how to do it right. It is somewhat embarassng to my ego, but I am just telling myself positive thoughts and not letting it bother me like I used to let things like this do to me.
Tonight I am going to step class. I found out it is a different instructor though. :-( The one in circuit training usually does it, and she is awesome. But I guess it is someone different this week. No big deal, I am sure she is nice too. And I say "she" because it is a women's gym, so I imagine it would only be a woman teacher.
Today at lunch I am going out for a new co-worker thing. Should be fun. I am thinking of getting a salad there (looks like a great one), even though what I really want is even more delicious, although very greasy and not very veggie filled. I need to think of that cholesterol test....
Have a great day everyone!

More Fiber
So I bought "
I am also going to try to eat more veggies and fruits. I packed up 5 huge sandwich baggies full of veggies for each day of the week. They are made up of celery, baby carrots, and tomatoes. I ate a ton of them yesterday too and felt full all night. Woo hoo. I think eating more veggies really might be the trick I have been missing.
I am not that big of a fan of salads. Not sure if it is because it is a cold meal or what. But I am going to work on finding ways to like them more, without loading them with dressing. Any ideas? I have heard of just juices from fruits like lemon, lime, orange, etc, which sound good. Hmm. Maybe I should just start stocking my fridge with things I like on salads that I do not have. Might make them tastier. I used to eat a salad for lunch almost every day my freshmen year of college, and then several times a week every other year in college. They had a delish salad bar on campus. Mmmm.
What are your favorite toppings on salads?
I also have a workout plan for the week. Here it is:
Monday: Circuit Training Class
Tuesday: Step Mania class
Wednesday: Hair cut (any ideas for me ?)
Thursday: Bosu class, or elliptical
Friday: Elliptical
Saturday: Not sure, but something
Sunday: Run with the dogs at the park
Meal plan for today:
B: oatmeal w/ trail mix, coffee w/ pumpkin spice soymilk
S: true delights quaker oatmeal bar, toasted coconut banana macadamia
L: home made fried rice with ham and TONS of veggies, banana w/ pb
S: veggies, oikos
D: lasagna & salad (ate this the past few nights, we made a ton of it, in small amounts not bad I think)
So I might be talking about how eating more veggies and fiber in general affects me. I may either die of being too bloated, get sick, or get incredibly better. I am going to incorporate it all slowly so that I stick with it and that I do not end up in the bathroom for hours at time while working. Heh.
Any advice on how you incorporated more veggies and fruit into your diet?
