Savor the Weekend

Phew I wish I had a few more days left of the weekend, but unfortunately only half a day. I am going to try to relax as much as I can, and possibly play soccer later. Unfortunately my achilies have actually felt worse this weekend than the past week. Not sure if it has to get worse to get better? I will discuss with the physical therapist on Monday when I have my appointment I suppose.

So lets back up to Friday. On Friday, I ate some yogurt, grape nuts, and vanilla almond granola. This is actually an old photo and not a true picture of what I ate. Somehow I forgot to take a photo of it. And mine did not have grapes in it, but I wish it had.

For lunch I needed to workout, and did not have time in the morning or in the evening. I decided to use my lunch break to work out. I was a little nervous about the timing working out, and going into work with wet hair etc. But I made it to the gym in under 10 minutes, after taking an accident detour. I changed fairly quickly. I stretched. I did 25 minutes of interval running on the treadmill. Then I showered, reapplied basic make up (just foundation) and was back to work. I ended up only being about 2 minutes late from an actual hour. That really doesn't matter at my work, so I think if I am desperate, the lunch workout works out fine. :-)

Since I worked out at the gym for my lunch break, I had to eat my lunch at work. I made a roast beef sandwich with a laughing cow wedge on arnold thins. Then I had some sun chips from the office that looked amazing.

After work I watched The Breakfast Club, Master Pancake Style (think Mystery Science theater) with a bunch of friends. It was absolutely hilarious. I had a great time. My dinner was a few pieces of pizza and a few chips with queso. Later we went out to the Gingerman. I ended up being a total bum and leaving by 11pm. Hahah.

On Saturday, Mike and I realized we had nothing in the house for breakfast. No eggs, no bread, no milk, no cereal, no yogurt. So we decided to go out to breakfast, since we haven't done that in SOOO long. We used to go out to breakfast once a weekend, but we stopped that in Austin for whatever reason. Possibly because there is no Norms within walking distance? Perhaps because breakfast is a fun meal to make?

Either way, we went to Wholly Bagel. It is a NY Bagel shop, run by people who moved here from NYC. I got the jalapeno cheddar bagel with an egg. Holy delicious. It was amazing. The bagel was sooo doughy and it hit the stop just right.

Later that afternoon Mike and I joined Sarah at the Paramount to watch Gentlemen Prefer Blonde's. That movie was ridiculous, as in ridiculously offensive and obnoxious. I still enjoyed it, if only because it made for great analysis.

After the movie, it was probably about 4pm, and we hadn't had lunch. This weekend is supposed to be all about Michael because his graduation got over shadowed last weekend. He said he wanted to go to Evangeline Cafe so that is where we went. This is in my top 5 fave restaurants in Austin. Amazing atmosphere, and beyond delicious cajun food. Mmmm. I got my favorite, the Gold Band Creole, which is a spicy tomato sauce dish on fettuccine noodles, with Parmesan and crispy shrimp. Mmmmmmmm. I ate about half. We also got a delicious dessert, but I forgot to take a photo.

My tummy has been a complete mess the last few days. Possibly because all the unhealthy food I have been eating? Possibly. So I ended up not even eating dinner because I felt so gross. This was actually the second time this week where I ate a few crackers/chips instead of a real meal for dinner. Awful right? Yes. Very.

But I did have fun regardless of the tummy issues. I went to hang out a few friends, one of which was celebrating the fact that she just got an amazing job. I stayed out pretty late and am pretty tired today. But I did manage to co-host a movie party this morning and help out with the brunch that we served. I will show more details on that tomorrow. Think french toast casserole. Mmmmmmmm.
