December 17, 2011 - Fastest Mile Yet

Breakfast
Soccer ended up getting cancelled due to rain and the damage it did to the field. Mike and I decided to just go to the farmers market to pick up our CSA box and get some breakfast while there. We picked up pan chocolate and ended up serving it alongside a farm fresh egg and a latte. The farm fresh eggs are so much better.

Fastest Mile Yet
After letting breakfast settle, Mike and I went to the gym. I ended up doing a 30 minute interval run, and then decided I would set out to try to sprint a mile as fast as I could. I ended up getting the mile done in 7:56. I have never done a mile below 9 minutes so this was a major feat. I was really proud of myself although now I am worried I won't be able to do it again. haha. I wonder how fast it could have been if I didn't do a fast interval run before it. Maybe it would have at least felt easier if I hadn't done that.

Lunch
Mike and I attempted to make pork pot stickers. Let's just say I wouldn't pay for these anywhere. The flavors of the meat were great, but the dough was watery and slightly off putting. We served it along with some white rice, khorabi, green onions, bok choy, cabbage and several other random veggies in there. All together it tasted decent. The khorabli was very delicious which was nice.

Dinner
I have no photos, but I went to a Christmas party this evening. It was a white elephant party, and I ended up with 2 silly books from Teddy. Murder She Wrote and a Guns n Roses book. My present that I was giving was a brain freeze ice cube tray. It was kind of boring for the theme of the party, but  would have liked it. Mike gave away some ghost pepper hot sauce with a small bottle of milk, with instructions that the winner must give it a try if they end up with it. Almost everyone ended up trying it, and it was definitely spicy. It wasn't too bad, definitely not the hottest thing I have ever had, but it did make me hiccup like crazy.

Question
Did you go to a White Elephant Party recently? What gift did you give?
