Breakfast
I knew I would be doing a lot of cleaning, so a hearty breakfast was in order. Lucky for me I had some leftover quiche to eat. Oh it was so good.
Of course I needed a delicious cappuccino and a piece of biscotti as well.
Lunch
After hours of cleaning, and then getting started on prepping for my lasagna I had a bowl of pasta. This was an easy lunch because I had just finished prepping the lasagna. Prepping the lasagna for me was essentially making all of it without putting it in the oven. I made a home made pasta sauce with some pork and beef in it. I added oregano, basil and cilantro, as well as onions, mushrooms and garlic. There was a ton of cheese put into it as well. I think about 6 or 7 kinds?
My lunch on the other hand only had some sauce, some ziti and one type of cheese.
Dinner
My dad was coming out to visit us from California, and landing around 530pm. Mike and I picked him up from the airport, and then drove him around Austin to show him what it was all about. He had never been here before, and believed the media about Texas that claimed this was a cowboy town. I had to disprove that Austin was not really at all like a cowboy town. :-)
We dropped his bags off at home, showed him around our house and then took him to dinner at Evangeline Cafe. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Austin. We started off with the oysters contraband.
Here is a photo of my dad looking to enjoy himself. Yes, he gives awkward looks into the camera just as I do. ;-)
Mike was also enjoying himself.
And I was in awe of everything.
I ordered my favorite meal there which is the Gold Band Creole. I ate probably about less than half of this. It was beyond delicious though.
Later that night we ended up chatting a lot throughout the night and catching up.
Question?
What is one of the restaurants that you regularly take guests to?
